Sam Patton is a native of Memphis, TN. He moved to Chattanooga in 1994 to attend UTC with dreams of becoming a pharmacist. However, God had other plans for him. Music has always been his passion and working full time in ministry is his calling. In December 2008, he came aboard with the NCF church family as music director under Dr. Bernie Miller. He and his family joined the ministry about a year later. Sam is the father of two wonderful children: Genesis Patton and Samuel L. Patton. His wife of over 13 years is LaTara Patton, who is a native of the scenic city.
Sam has played for many popular gospel artists including Byron Cage, Beverly Crawford, Angela Spivey, James Bignon, Le’Andria Johnson, Alvin Slaughter and Veshawn Mitchell. He has also shared the stage with Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin, Trin-i-tee 5:7, Debra Killings, Natalie Wilson and SOP and Kevin Davidson. Sam is also a producer, arranger, composer and songwriter. His favorite verses of scripture are found in James 2:17 “Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.” and 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
