A small boy who was very fond of his father loved to join him wherever he went. One day while his dad was engaged in intensive study, the youngster tapped at this office door. “Well, my little man, what do you want now?” Receiving permission to come in the boy made his way to a far corner of the room and sat quietly for a long time. He was content just to be alone with his father. Is this the kind of love we have toward God? Do we often go to our Heavenly Father, even when we don’t want anything, just to be near Him? In Hebrews 4:16, we have a standing invitation to enter His presence. It says; “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Sometimes the need is just to be in His presence. When was the last time you made it a point to be alone with the Father?
